"Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 Digital Camera makes closeups, scenery, nighttime shots, auto and manual focus settings, and color settings a breeze. It has two auto modes, one is like many others (automatically setting focus, speed, f-stop, etc) but Panasonic has this Intel...ligent Auto mode that is far more advanced, letting you take almost perfect photos in any light condition, any focus situation, etc. Editing photos and zooming into individual pixels, it's amazing how well the stabilization works. In the manual focus mode, a digital zoom is used like a magnifying glass, zooming in on the center of the image and letting you set the focus on very fine detail. You have to see it to believe it, but it's VERY impressive. Panasonic makes impressive TV production cameras, and professional video cameras, and this is an excellent example of their camera design knowledge."

"The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 Digital Camera does a remarkable job for the market it was designed for. Not high level DSLR or low level point and shoot only, and pictures not movies. I like the calendar mode during playback which shows a monthly calendar and highlights the days with a tiny picture thumbnail that pictures were taken. Very cool. Also has dual timezones for when your traveling to keep date/time stamps accurate. Nice finshing details like this round out the camera very nicely. For a small camera bag I'm trying M-Rocks Niagara bag. Just barely fits in sidewise (verticle oriented bag) with the grip up. Plenty of room above the camera in the bag for a strap or equivalent that won't scratch the camera. Has plenty of small pockets for extras like spare batteries, memory cards, filters. A touch big to carry around all day but hey, this isn't a compact camera. That's the price for 18x zoom."

"Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 Digital Camera is so versatile, I can tweak and experiment all I want, and my wife can pick it up and point-and-shoot. The intelligent auto setting is amazing, it switches modes depending on what is in the frame, and it does it quickly. I have been having fun taking pictures in low light situations with no flash, the colors are great. Out doors this thing really shines! My last camera took great pictures when IT wanted to, but not always when I wanted to, this on agrees with me 98% of the time (not even my wife will do that). I highly recommend this camera!"
