Panasonic DMC-FX37 Digital Camera user reviews

    "The Panasonic DMC-FX37 Digital Camera is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 5x optical zoom lens. It has a 25mm wide angle lens and fits into a pocket.
Why Buy the Panasonic DMC FX37?

The DMC FX37 gives you that bit more zoom than a standard pocket camera. The wide angle lens is useful for squeezing in wide shots such as landscapes, groups of people and buildings. The camera scores will for ease of use. You may also be tempted by HD quality movies."

    "Was very impressed with Panasonic DMC-FX37 Digital Camera. Normally go for cheaper models but this was recommended to me so I thought i'd try it out, I wasn't dissapointed.
===Picture Quality===

Pretty good, the camera has 10 megapixels so even when I zoomed in to the maximum the camera could go, the picture was still very clear.
4/5
===Ease of use===

Pretty easy to use in the general sense, I was also surprised to find that it had an intelligient auto mode which meant the camera did most of the work for me.
5/5
===Durability===

I've dropped this a few times with no damage to function, I have however managed to cause quite a bit of visual damage such as scratches, so the camera it's self isn't really scratch resistant.
3/5
===Size and Weight===

It is pretty compact and fits nicely into pretty much anything. It also only weighs a meagre 125g so is hardly a travel burden.
5/5
===Look and design===
It looks pretty cool and is available in silver, black and brown. It is also quite erganomic and nice to hold. I would recommend going for the black or the silver, have found a picture of the brown and it isn't the most attractive of colours.
4/5

Value for Money

A tad on the expensive side for my liking but well worth it.

    "The wide-angle lens is a great advantage and the 10.1 megapixel definition is amazing. The 5X zoom is also very useful. It is no wonder that Panasonic DMC-FX37 Digital Camera is also marketed (with a different badge) as a Leica C LUX-3 at more than twice the price. It is beautifully compact and, being smaller than a pack of cards, can be carried at all times."

    "I imagine a lot of people reading the reviews on this page are finding it very difficult to decide which compact to buy. The market is flooded with literally hundreds of great looking cameras with similar specs at a similar price. It's difficult to decide, but having tested a few I can guarantee if you purchase the Panasonic DMC-FX37 Digital Camera you will not be disappointed.

I purchased mine 2 weeks ago and I am delighted. My photos are sharp, the colours are vibrant, I'm so happy with it's performance in low light, with very little noise until reaching ISO800, plus it's HD videos are unbelievable. It's small, the LCD is bright & clear and the wide angle lens along with 5 x zoom is incredibly useful. There are a variety of scene modes to choose from, but if you fancy tweaking things yourself there are also some manual controls you don't usually find on compacts, such as shutter speed, [1/250], [1/125], [1/60], [1/30], [1/15], [1/8], [1/4], [1/2], or [1].

I have posted 6 of my own images up on this page - for some reason the processing they go through via Amazon to be shrunk appears to have reduced the quality slightly, but you get an idea of what this camera is capable of.

Over the past 2 years I have owned or extensively used the IXUS 860, IXUS 75, Panasonic FS20 & Casio Z1080. The FX37 takes the best photos out of all of them - I really am very pleased with my purchase and highly recommend it."

    ""Panasonic DMC-FX37 Digital Camera is my walk-about camera. It easily fits in my pocket, with a bulge about the same size as an iPhone. I bought this camera because of the Leica wide-angle lens. The 25mm is able to capture a lot more than your typical compact camera with a wide angle of 30-35mm. I am fairly pleased with the results that I have gotten so far. The one major downside that I have noticed is that there is an extra beat between the press of the button and when the picture is taken in low-light situations. I found myself having to tell people to hold their poses an extra second when using the flash as many of the initial photos I took turned out blurry when the subjects moved after the first flash, believing the picture to have been taken.

While I may grip about it, this issue is not a deal breaker for this camera. It is still superior, in my mind, to the canon/sony/etc... compact cameras out there.

You can shoot HD (720p) video with this camera, however, an 8GB card only gives you 11 minutes of video. I had never shot HD video and didn't buy this camera to do so, but if I had, I would be pretty disappointed to discover how large those files actually are. This, of course, is not the fault of Panasonic; that is just how large the videos are. However, given that most websites tout this camera ability to shoot in 720p, any potential buyer should understand the limitations that accompany that format.

All in all, a good camera. Suits my needs and looks very similar to the Leica model, with which it shares most of its engineering, for half the price. I'd buy this camera again." "
